About Becca Bottini

Becca Bottini – My Journey Towards Counseling

I have always loved walking alongside people and hearing their stories. I am fascinated by how our experiences shape us, and I have found so much joy in encouraging individual strengths and qualities in people.

When I started following Christ in college, I was so grateful for experiencing the hope of knowing Jesus. At the same time, I learned to be spiritually “good” before learning to be emotionally honest. I felt ashamed that I was not walking with Jesus perfectly, and I often felt that I was somehow behind in my faith. I was always worried that if people knew what I was really struggling with, they would think less of me.

It was through genuine community and counseling that I experienced what it meant to be fully known and fully loved. As Christians, it can be easy to believe that we should have it all together. The good news is that Jesus never asks us to clean ourselves up before coming to Him. He is a Shepherd who meets us in our pain and guides us with compassion and care.

Because of my own experiences, I want to create that same kind of space for others. I want to provide a place where you can be completely yourself, ask hard questions, and experience real grace and growth through both God’s truth and the wisdom He has provided through counseling.

My Area Of Expertise

I work with young adult women who feel stuck in cycles of shame, perfectionism, self-criticism, or relational pain. Many of the women I work with are carrying wounds from past experiences that continue to impact how they see themselves, others, and God.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, trauma, difficult relationships, or just the feeling that you are never quite “good enough,” my goal and my prayer is to help you find freedom, self-compassion, and deeper connections with both God and the people around you.

What is Unique About How I Approach Counseling

I believe that theology and psychology do not compete; they are complementary.

Our struggles often begin in places where we have felt unseen, misunderstood, hurt, or alone. The relationships we experience throughout life shape how we view ourselves, others, and even God. When those experiences are painful, we often develop ways of protecting ourselves that can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected.

However, God wired us for connection and community. We are called to love God and to love others as ourselves. As your counselor, my role is not to judge or "fix" you. I want to provide a consistent, safe relationship where you can explore your story, process your emotions honestly, and identify and remove those blocks that prevent you from living authentically and abundantly. My hope and prayer is that the healing you experience in counseling extends beyond the therapy room into your life, your relationships, and your faith in God.

I want to first understand who you are and what matters most to you. No two people are exactly alike, so no two counseling journeys should be, either. We’ll identify your goals, build on your strengths, and I will walk with you on a path that feels both meaningful and sustainable for you.

What I Am Like Outside Of The Office

The good news: I love to laugh. The bad news: I’ve got a loud and distinctive laugh. My husband shared with me (after we were married, thankfully) that the first time he heard me laugh, it scared him. If that’s not romantic, I don’t know what is.

Maybe you’ve heard of the phrase “mom of the friend group.” Well, that’s not me.

I have been lovingly referred to as having more grandmotherly qualities. I love my “big squeeze hugs,” always having a good homemade baked treat on hand, and I can be forgetful at times. I have also been known to carry tissues and candies in my purse (just in case).

Some of God’ greatest gifts in my life have been my husband, my closest friends, and my church community. I love going on hikes (particularly if they’ve got a good waterfall or creek; a “water feature,” as I like to call it). The most breathtaking experiences for me have been my travels to Spain, Ireland, South Africa, Mexico, Zion National Park, and Arches National Park in Utah.

More often than not, however, my favorite moments are the simpler ones. I love spending quality time with my husband and my friends; I love a good movie; I love enjoying some good Mexican food on a patio on a nice summer day. I also love lounging by the pool with a good book or podcast. And I will never get sick of a good latte or a Diet Coke.
